Mind blowing facts about The Universe which you can't afford to miss.
Wow Signal.
In 1977, we received a signal from deep space that lasted for 72 seconds. We still don’t know how and where it came from.
It was a narrowband signal received at Ohio State University’s Big Ear telescope which was made to study extra-territorial intelligence. These signal came from the constellation Sagittarius. This signal gave a strong support to an assumption of alien life.
Signal was detected by the Scientist Jerry Ehman, while he was decoding the signal and realized what it is, he circled the code and wrote WOW next to it. Hence, it was named as Wow signal.

Cosmic Microwave Background.
According to Big Bang theory, our universe is expanding continuously. So going by this fact we can come to a conclusion that at the start everything must have been condensed and contained at a single point. This is what we call Singularity.
But since the beginning of the universe till the 3.8 lakh years nothing can be seen because there was no light.
After 3.8 lakh years due to cosmic micro-wave background charged electrons and protons started combining to form neutral hydrogen and produced lots of thermal radiation during this chemical reaction.
This thermal radiation was so intense that the first trace of light came into an existence and eventually universe became visible.
Penzia and Wilson won the Nobel prize for discovering CMB.
Quasar. Two teams of astronomers have discovered the largest and farthest reservoir of water ever detected in the universe. The water, equivalent to 140 trillion times all the water in the world's ocean, surrounds a huge, feeding black hole, called a quasar, more than 12 billion light-years away.
There's water vapor in the Milky Way as well, although the total amount is 4,000 times less than in the quasar because most of the Milky Way’s water is frozen in ice.
